“The Measles Initiative is very important. We’re able to make a difference now in over 41 million people,” says Sid L. Scruggs III, LCIF Chairperson, in this video about the pilot year of the Lions Measles Initiative.
Children in four African countries were vaccinated during the pilot year, thanks to the support of Lions.
Lions are now raising $10 million, which will be used to vaccinate more children through the work of the Measles & Rubella Initiative. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will award $5 million to LCIF by matching $1 for every $2 Lions raise to help eliminate measles.
Donations toward this effort now total $3,564,341. You can help save lives by contributing to One Shot, One Life: Lions Measles Initiative.
